It's no news that I have a lot of websites. 21, actually, to be exact (3 fansites, 15 fanlistings, and 3 other sites).

But with the full-time job weighing down on me, and other such adult responsibility (bleck), it's time I considered closing or repurposing some sites.

Therefore, I have come up with this list of sites I am thinking of closing or making important changes to. Please feel free to make comments or offer suggestions as to what I should close/change/KEEP FOREVER.

Fansites
Devil Child	Change?	I'm seriously considering removing the doujinshi database. I don't update it anymore, in part because I have been scannerless since September but mostly because even if I like all the stats it gives me on my collection, it's a pain in the ass to update. Furthermore, the script I use for the database, MediaShelf, has been pulled from the web by its author and is no longer supported. Unfortunately, I don't know if that big database is what mostly draws people to my site...
Grab Bag	Change?	I'm not thinking of changing its purpose, but I should really trash the ugly old art that no one cares about.
Nyx's Lounge	Keep	Dude. It's Megaten. And it's got porn.
Fanlistings
Apocalypse Postponed	Change	I'm going to take out the fanlisting part and only keep the Dressing Room resources
Aster	Keep	This is an old love, and the layout is simply fantastic. It has sentimental value by now and I refuse to let it go.
Broken Mirror	Keep	My oldest fanlisting and I still love Vergil to death. You'd have to axe this one out of my cold mummified hands.
Canadian Pride	Close	Nobody ever joined this.
Emperor & Magician	Keep	JUN/AKI
Facing Destiny	Change?	No one likes poor Roland ;; Thinking of removing the fanlisting part and just keeping the shrine part.
Forever Yours	Keep	Low activity, but I still like the subject and it has a bunch of members.
Highway to Hell	Keep	Obvious. Love the subject, lots of members.
In Death Comes Life	Keep	Love the subject. a lot.
In Nomine Patris	Keep	Love the subject.
Morning Star	Keep	Not very popular, but I adore Megaten's Lucifer.
Reason	Keep	NEVER LETTING THIS ONE GO
Same Difference	Keep	Even less popular than Morning Star, but I'm giving it a chance, since I just opened it and it doesn't even have a graphic layout yet.

Children of the Devil	Close	Seems the DMC fandom is not fan of hub sites... pretty much no one is joining this thing D: and after 3 incarnations, I don't like this site much anymore.
Iconolatry	Keep	Well, it's not very active, but it makes a nice icon archive, and it's on LJ. Not to mention my fansites link to it.

Work has taught me the following things:

You can never have too much sleep;

I hate Word. It's a buggy, shitty program and Writer is tons better;

However my hate for Word is nothing compared to my hate of PowerPoint;

I hate IE as much as I hate PowerPoint. Can't even open a new tab from the Search bar, what the shit is this???

At least I've had... entertaining dreams.

The other night I dreamed I went to a convention. It was, honestly, terrible. It was full of furry and shota art, two things I really don't care for, and all the sellers in the shop area made the Comic Book Guy look positively pleasant in comparison. All of them refused to sell you anything as well. However, according to my subconscious, if there were chibi figures of the P3 cast, I would grab them in the following order: Akihiko, Mitsuru, Fuuka. I guess there was no Junpei.

Last night I had another of my epic crossover dreams. It involved Narutoverse, a Sonic videogame, zombies, ghosts, and the DDS2 crew. My subconscious ships a cynic!jaded!God!complex!AU!Roland with Jenna Angel. I don't even know myself, guys. And I don't remember Gale's reaction either.

I was gonna go to bank today, but I'm not wearing my contacts and it's raining so I didn't. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Once I'm done cleaning and backing up my laptop, I think am gonna play P4 or DMC4. That, or dick around doing demon quests and going back to Home III in IMAGINE. Or look for a beta for a P4 ficlet.

Trick or Treat?... on LJ!

1) Create a graphic (200 x 200 max size) to represent your personal "candy". It should have your username on it, but otherwise can feature whatever you want. Make it something special since it's self-representative.

2) Make a post with the subject "trick or treat?". Put your "candy" somewhere in it, and be sure to repost these instructions.

3) Then, go around other people's LJs and reply to them with either "trick" or "treat". If you reply with "trick", they will give you an LJ dare that you have to perform before taking their candy. If you're too wimpy for that, simply say "treat" and take their candy.

4) List all your collected candies in your original "trick or treat?" post to show off your collection, ~~being sure not to direct-link~~! You can direct-link mine, I don't care.

End of an era

Geocities closed down yesterday. All sites became unavailable today.

Geocities was where I started out making sites (I was on Area51!). However, I'm not sad to see it go. It became rather abysmal while I was still there, what with the obnoxious ads, small space and tinier bandwidth, and I can't imagine the last days would have been any better. I just wonder where people will start making terrible first sites now, though.

Oh wait, no one makes websites anymore :P

Disclaimers: I have not played Silent Hill: Homecoming. I watched my friend lerefuge play it on my PS3 (because I own one and she doesn't) until she got stuck in the sewers and gave up forever. We then watched a LP of the whole game. My opinion is therefore not that of a real fan and should be discarded at your earliest convenience.

3. Ecclesiastical.
   a. a formal division within, or separation from, a church or religious body over some doctrinal difference.
   b. the state of a sect or body formed by such division.
   c. the offense of causing or seeking to cause such a division.

The Schism is Alex's father, Adam Shepherd.

First, it has the rather disturbing codpiece, so it is a male symbol :P

Second, a schism is a split in a religious organization, which, in Shepherd's Glen, could represent pretty much the whole town. However, I believe it represents more specifically Adam because he is of two minds about what is happening in his life. On the one side, he is obviously loyal and faithful to the faith he has. He has "Other" as his faith on his dog tags, and if he didn't believe in his religion, he would not be willing to sacrifice his children to it by both sacrificing one and having another to perpetuate the cult in the Shepherd name. On the other hand, it's clear that it just breaks him to have to sacrifice Alex. That's why he tried to raise him without showing him any sort of affection, and probably instructed his wife to do the same. That's why he begs for forgiveness, first in the confessional, then before Pyramid Head wanders by. The split head represents the opposing sides of him: his faithful side willing to sacrifice his own flesh and blood, and his human side that does not want to kill his own children.

Furthermore, when you do the house puzzles, you have the Schisms representing the family in the attic, as another meta I read said. However, there is a fourth, decapitated Schism in Adam's hunting room. That Schism represents Adam, but in a different way, reflecting his character development. At that time, Adam has done away with the two opposing thoughts torturing him. He has cast it all aside and he is going to Silent Hill to make things right, to stop the madness, knowing he will most likely die. That is why the Schism is headless; the "two minds" of Adam are gone. He is determined and focused. He's ready to kill for his family.

So this is why I think the Schism represents Adam Shepherd.

ETA: As mynoseisbigger helpfully pointed out in chat, another point to add in favour of the Schisms representing Adam: the first Schisms you encounter are in the police station, Adam's workplace, where "[a] break between wanting to uphold the law and do the right thing and protecting the cult" is taking place.

I stayed up WAY TOO LATE playing IMAGINE online, but, thanks to raidou_fic and hitosyura, my widdle girl went from Level 3 and barely out of the prologue to a level 9 girl with 4 demons (Inexperienced Cait Sith, Leader Pixie, Kodoma and Apis) and some actual inventory. Thanks ^^

Now, though, I should shower, do laundry, wash the dishes, vacuum the floor and pack. Not necessarily in that order.
